Job Description
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, conducting air source compliance emissions testing at various industrial facilities throughout the United States. This position also involves leading teams in mobilization and demobilization of projects, calibration and maintenance of field sampling equipment, as well as directing other stack testing related duties. QSTI Certification is required. This position includes frequent travel, is physically demanding, performed outdoors in varying weather conditions in industrial settings, and at elevated heights.
Job Responsibility
- Gathers environmental data by following EPA-prescribed test methods at client sites. Evaluates atmospheric pollutants by collecting and analyzing samples of gases from smokestacks; gathering other air samples and meteorological data.
- Conduct stack testing including performance tests, RATAs, CGAs, DRE test, etc.
- Ability to train others in stack testing
- Maintains environmental data sets by gathering information and contributing to reporting. Prepares summaries by gathering and testing samples; analyzing and summarizing findings and trends.
- Troubleshoots and maintains analyzers and CEMS equipment with the ability to solve problems in the field.
- Maintains gas and fluid flow systems, chemical reaction systems, mechanical equipment, and other test instrumentation by installing; operating; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Communicate with clients effectively and in a professional manner while representing AIR with dignity.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Maintains the stability and reputation of the organization by complying with legal and waste management requirements.
- Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Job Requirements
- Solid leadership skills with the ability to efficiently run a team and concisely disseminate directions to employees
- Be self motivated
- Knowledge of EPA Promulgated Methods, Conditional Methods, and "Other" Methods, NCASI Methods, NIOSH Methods
- Familiarity with the petrochemical refining process and the compliance testing required
- Solid troubleshooting skills for analyzer instruments, CEMS equipment, and wet-method equipment
- Willingness to travel
- Willingness to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- Ability to work at heights
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Valid driver’s license
